This year, Ishigaki celebrated
the 61st anniversary of its foundation as a city. The ceremony included various
awards for Honorary Citizens and Honorary Public Servants, as well as
certificates of apreciation for special acheivements. Also featured were a video
chronicling the collective Ishigaki's accomplishments from its humble beginnings
as a village nearly one hundred years ago to the present day, along with a
presentation of traditional dances. |
